2024: A Year of Big Milestones

Before we talk about what’s next, let’s take a moment to highlight how far we’ve come. 2024 has been a huge year for ICN, with major achievements that have set the foundation for an even bigger 2025:

🔥 Successful Testnet – Over 200,000 participants engaged with the ICN network, stress-testing its capabilities and providing valuable feedback.

🔗 Key Strategic Partnerships – We’ve secured collaborations and are in contact with 40+ DePIN projects, along with other key players that will help expand ICN’s adoption and bring real-world use cases to the network. Some of these partnerships are planned to become fully operational shortly after launch.

👥 Growing Ecosystem & Community – The ambassador program, node sales, and Fairdrop participation have all contributed to a thriving early community. We’ve built an engaged user base that will be instrumental in ICN’s decentralized future.

With these milestones achieved, we’re picking up momentum - and making sure ICN launches at full force.

1. Market timing 

Let’s be real - timing matters. By launching in Q2, we strive to leverage better market conditions for the benefit of existing and future ICNT users. In addition, we’re progressing with ICNT listing on multiple trading platforms to ensure full token capability shortly after mainnet launch. Every step is calculated to maximize impact and long-term success.

2. ICN functionality  

To foster a vibrant ecosystem at launch, we're excited to confirm two key features available from day one: ICNT staking and hardware collateral. Both NFT holders and ICNT users will have the ability to stake their tokens and earn rewards. Hardware providers will be required to provide collateral for their enterprise-grade hardware and, in return, be rewarded with our native ICNT token.

3. Strategic partnerships 

We’ve secured key partnerships that will expand ICN’s reach, adoption, and overall impact - and these opportunities have the potential to be fully feasible in Q2. By adjusting our timeline, we’re ensuring that ICN launches with more integrations, stronger collaborations, and a wider market presence right from the start.

Node Supply Constriction: 55,000 Nodes instead of 100,000

We have constricted the total supply of nodes to 55,000. This supply reduction gives each node a more pivotal role in the system and even small node holders can contribute significantly to the network:

✔ Balance of product-alignment and sustainable decentralization – ensuring a performant network and a balanced distribution of nodes without overinflating supply.

✔ Stronger network economics and transparency – controlled issuance that benefits long-term supporters with a clearer view of token rewards per node and their overall value.

A balance between ecosystem performance and supply of nodes drives a sustainable, decentralized ecosystem with stronger incentives, and more valuable networks for operators. A detailed update is coming in one of our next blogs.
