The ICN Fairdrop is more than just your typical airdrop - it’s an exciting, contribution-based journey that incentivizes real engagement with the ICN Testnet. Unlike random token distributions, the Fairdrop is designed to reward those who dive in, contribute, and truly engage with the platform. 

Here’s everything you need to know about how it works and, most importantly, what you stand to gain. 

How does the Fairdrop work?

The Fairdrop is all about meaningful participation. We’re not just distributing a pool of 10.5 million Impossible Cloud Network Tokens (ICNTs) to anyone. Instead, we’re encouraging you to test functionality and reward you based on your level of engagement and contributions.

What’s in it for you? 

Our dynamic reward system is designed to recognize and reward your contributions based on the tasks you complete and the experience points (XP) you accumulate. The more you contribute, the larger your potential share of the rewards, up to specified limits. This keeps things competitive, ensuring that active participants are recognized.

However, to maintain balance and fairness, there are a few nuances we implemented:

• The prize pool: Up to 10.5M ICNT will be distributed among 20,000 eligible participants. Consequently, eligible participants may be rewarded an average of approximately 525 ICNT - while individual rewards will vary. 

• Minimum reward for eligible participants: To incentivize continuous testing of features being released on an ongoing basis, the minimum any eligible participant may be rewarded is 250 ICNT. 

• Maximum reward for eligible participants: To ensure fairness and prevent high-scorers from draining the reward pool, you can be rewarded up to 800 ICNT max. Note: The maximum reward of 800 ICNT is not guaranteed as individual rewards will vary based on the performance of other eligible participants.

• Eligibility requirements:
  • First-come, first-served basis: Only the first 20,000 participants who reach at least 730 XP may be rewarded ICNT. The tokens will be distributed proportionally based on each eligible participant's total XP relative to the combined XP of all eligible participants.
  • Minimum XP requirement: You need at least 730 XP to qualify for token rewards. You also need to be amongst the 20,000 people who pass this threshold.

Simply put - your rewards are linked to your contribution on the testnet. All eligible participants’ XP are totaled, and your share of the reward pool is determined by how well you perform compared to others. 

What do you need to do?

It’s simple: participate in the Testnet. Complete tasks, interact with features, report bugs, and engage with the community. Every eligible action you take earns you XP, boosting your ranking and increasing your chances of securing a better spot in the Fairdrop.

Some key actions that earn you XP include:

• Testing new features as they’re rolled out.
• Providing feedback to improve the Testnet experience.
• Completing specific flash tasks set out during the Testnet.

How can you maximize your rewards?

Want to make sure you’re in that top 20,000? Here are a few pro tips to boost your chances:

1. Start Early: The XP for initial tasks will only be available for a limited time, so getting in early will give you the biggest advantage.
2. Be Persistent: Complete all tasks - this consistency will earn you more XP and keep you in the race.
3. Stay Active for Flash Tasks: Keep an eye out for flash tasks or time-sensitive opportunities that can help you boost your score quickly.
